Our Learning & Development Director, Sean Clarke, is taking on the three highest peaks in the UK in support of Willow, a charity providing Special Days for seriously ill young adults and one of our ongoing clients. Between the 8th and 11th October, Sean will be scaling Snowdon, Scafell Pike and Ben Nevis in the hope of raising money and awareness for Willow’s cause.
“I am delighted that Sean will be taking the challenge and joining the Willow team tackling the Three Peaks,” said David White, the charity’s chief executive. “Every step that Sean and the team take will help raise funds for the Special Days. We are really pleased to be strengthening our partnership with Bluehat too. Sean and the Bluehat team have provided Willow with major team building and organisational development help, and their input is helping shape the charity for future growth and development. With Sean’s support I’m sure we’ll rise to the challenge of three mountains!”
Set up in 1999, Willow is the only national charity working with seriously ill young adults aged 16 to 40 to fulfil uplifting and unforgettable Special Days. These Special Days are life-affirming experiences that can lift spirits, reunify families and be a source of strength when it’s needed most.
Bluehat first worked with Willow in 2014 organising their annual company meeting. We provided a workshop around the profiling tool Extended DISC®, as well as the energiser Need 4 Speed and the facilitated team build Hells Bells. Following the success of this event, Willow decided to use the Extended DISC® system to improve their internal communications. With our assistance this tool has been integrated into their work environment, and at the end of September our Learning & Development team will be running another Extended DISC® workshop for new employees.
So how is Sean feeling about the triple climb?
“I was thrilled to be invited! It’s such an exciting and rewarding challenge. I’ve been running around the woods at the back of my house to get ready. It’s hilly- not quite Ben Nevis though!”
Sean’s hike fits with our commitment to helping others and making a difference. Through our CSR-focused events, clients are able to raise money and donate goods to their chosen charities. This year, just one of these events raised an impressive £140,000.
If you would like to donate to Sean and help him achieve his target of £699 please visit and share his JustGiving page and Pledge A Pound for Peak Performance. All of us at Bluehat and Willow will be extremely grateful!
